Falling Down the Rabbit Hole

Yes, I realize I've been a bit on the absent side lately.  And yes, I realize that much has been going on in the world of schools.  And yes, I probably should be commenting on said events however my life is currently made up of the following tasks: sleeping, eating, parenting, working, and...dissertating.  Friends, I have fallen down the rabbit hole that is March.  You know, when you realize that spring is springing and holy-crap-there-is-so-much-to-do-before-the-school-year-is-over!  Are you all down here at the bottom with me?

Welcome!

Can I just say that I miss blogging?  I miss it a LOT.  Last year at this time I was blogging every day.  Every.  Day.  (sigh)  I miss those days.

But things are a' brewing, my lovely readers.  They are a' brewin'.  I will keep you posted but in the meantime, know this:

Mrs. Mimi sees a bright light at the end of her dissertative tunnel.  And I am walking toward the light, my friends.  There is an oral defense on my horizon and then after making you call me Dr. Mimi for maybe a week or so, I'LL BE BACK.  Because suddenly, there are going to be more hours in my day.

Thank you for all of your support through this long, grueling and panic attack inducing process.

xo,
Mimi

Hang in there! I'm down the rabbit hole with you. Just when you feel like you can catch your breath, everything is coming at you again. Teaching a split this year (5th/6th) and it is kicking my butt! We will surivive and conquer, though :) Cheering you on from Washington, Mrs. Mimi. Go, girl, go!

Hey, it's ok to be gone for awhile. I have a new baby too (well she's getting closer to 1 now) and it's hard to fit everything in. I have always enjoyed your posts and have kind of modeled some of my own posts after yours (narrative writing, not just expository). Keep up the good work! It's always fun to read your posts!

I feel your pain! and I'm only finishing up grad school! I'm kinda glad you haven't been blogging so I don't feel so bad when I don't have time to read it!

We miss you too...but glad that you're keeping us posted on what's going on. The world of parenting is busy...wonderfully so!

Don't know about disserting...but there is a light at the end of the tunnel for that, isn't there?

Hi there! I am new here, but I've loved reading your past posts today-- so funny! I was a public school teacher, too, and am currently living in Thailand where my husband directs an NGO.

I've just started a new teacher blog, http://www.inspiredteacher.net, for the encouragement of teachers in the trenches. I've linked your site on my sidebar, hope that's okay!

During your "down" time, would you be open to a guest post? I'd love to write something up for you, if you're interested! Take a look and let me know!

In the meantime, hang in there! Summer's a'coming. :)

I hope there are cocktails at the end of the tunnel, too!
I'm desperately trying to finish all of my objective tasks for my online teacher education program. I only have 10 more days, and 11 more tasks to complete. If I don't finish them on time, I'll have to pull out of my student teaching cohort and delay my eventual graduation. I keep checking your blog everyday to see if you've posted, and have been disappointed. But now that I know you are on the verge of finishing your school stuff, too, I totally understand! Juggling school, kids, a husband, and life in general just doesn't leave much time for anything else. And if there is spare time, it's used for sleep!

We can't wait, Dr. Mimi.

Jeez Louise. If I had tried to do all that you are doing and blog with a young child at home, I would have had to be locked up. I just stumbled onto your blog--great stuff. My kids are 23 and 27! I started blogging this past fall. I love it, but it takes time that one does not always have.

We want to read your dissertation :) Okay, perhaps for totally selfish reasons, I want to read it...I am in year 2 of my doc program and am wondering how many cocktails it will take me to write a dissertation in addition to teaching full time - may need to work somewhere that values a liquid lunch ;). Anyway, best of luck in finishing up. We'll be here when you have time to post.
